Duties: Supervision of maintenance of rolling stock such as LHB/ICF coaches, wagons, MEMU, diesel locomotives, track machines and tower wagons, plus any other duties assigned by KRCL. Place of posting: Generally in KRCL depots such as Madgaon, Verna, Tokur, Ratnagiri and Chiplun. As per urgent requirements, posting in various KRCL projects is also possible. The selected candidate can be posted or transferred anywhere in the KRCL establishment at any time during the contract.

Consolidated remuneration includes Basic, DA, HRA, Conveyance and Mobile Allowance. Basic Rs. 18,481 and DA Rs. 10,719, plus other allowances of Rs. 18,020 (A Class), Rs. 15,100 (B Class) or Rs. 12,180 (C Class). Remuneration increases by 4% of the consolidated remuneration after every completed year, subject to KRCL requirement and discretion. The provisions of the New Labour Code-2026 (insurance, gratuity, bonus) will be implemented as applicable. TA as per KRCL policy when travelling for official work beyond the project area. Complementary railway pass for travel on duty; reimbursement as per KRCL policy for road travel. KRCL rest house if available while on duty; otherwise hotel charges are reimbursed as per KRCL rates on production of vouchers. Statutory income tax, professional tax and other taxes are deducted at source.

Earned leave: 15 days on completion of every 6 months of contract (2.5 days per month). It can be accumulated but not encashed. Casual leave: 8 days during the contract year. Weekly off and public holidays as applicable at the place of posting. Leave is allowed only after prior sanction; leave taken without sanction is treated as Leave without Pay. No extra overtime pay or allowance is given for working beyond the nominated hours.

The initial contract is for 1 year, extendable based on satisfactory performance, mutual consent and KRCL requirement. Either side can terminate the contract with one month's notice or payment in lieu. KRCL may terminate the contract at its discretion, or if the appointee is found unsuitable. A panel of standby candidates may be maintained as per merit and used within the validity of the panel. Candidates already on contract with KRCL need not serve a notice period but need a relieving letter at the time of joining. KRCL reserves the right to cancel, restrict, curtail or enlarge the engagement process without notice. The terms are broad and may change at the time of the actual agreement.
