| Age relaxation | SC/ST: 5 years. OBC (NCL): 3 years. Ex-servicemen: length of military service plus 3 years. PwBD: 10 years (UR/EWS), 13 years (OBC NCL), 15 years (SC/ST), applicable only to posts identified suitable for PwBD. Relaxations are cumulative, but the upper age cannot exceed 50 years in any case. |
| NCRTC employees | Employees with at least one year of service in NCRTC on the date of the vacancy notice get age relaxation equal to their completed years of service, and the Full-Time qualification requirement is relaxed. |
| Nationality | Only Indian nationals above 18 years of age can apply |
| Education rules | Only Full Time regular courses count. Qualifications must be from a UGC recognised Indian University / Deemed University, or an AICTE approved course from an Autonomous Indian Institution / the concerned statutory council. Equivalence claims need an equivalence certificate. For posts D06 to D09, ITI is mandatory and a higher qualification is not considered without it. |

Selection process
Selection is through a Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by a medical fitness test. The CBT syllabus will be hosted separately on the NCRTC website.
Computer Based Test (CBT)
100 questions, 100 marks, 90 minutes. One mark per correct answer and no negative marking. The test can be taken in Hindi or English. Further selection is on merit, and qualifying does not guarantee shortlisting.

Shortlisted candidates must meet the A-3 standard (D01 to D05) or the B-1 standard (D06 to D09). Eligibility is verified against original documents on the date of the medical examination.

The fee of ₹500 is non-refundable and excludes transaction processing charges and GST, which are extra. Candidates applying for more than one post must pay the fee separately for each post. Payment is by Credit/Debit Card or Net Banking.

Keep a valid personal e-mail ID and mobile number active throughout the recruitment. Certificates issued in a language other than English or Hindi need a self-certified translated copy. No hard copies are to be sent.
Written test centres
Candidates must give a preference of five cities for their test centre while applying. No change is allowed later, and NCRTC may assign, cancel or add any centre.
